New Release-   A 7,000 Year History of Concrete     W.W. Norton Publishing

There has never been a history of the cultural impact of concrete. In fact there has never been any history of the most ubiquitous of all of Man's inventions until now!

Unlikely Passages

Unlikely Passages is a sailor's manifesto. I found health and happiness living free in the sailorly life on unpolluted oceans, and you can, too.

The book deals with what happens inside your head on long and wonderous passages rather than with where I went and what I did. It is an investigation of the physical, mental and emotional clarity that are the gifts of the sailorly life.

Shed cares, shed guilt, shed banks and doctors and, most of all, shed the damned lawyers. Then you will be free at last.

Available on Amazon.com or from the publisher, Sheridan Press, Dobbs Ferry, N.Y.

Unlikely People

In the course of a 20 year circumnavigation of the globe, I ran across some, kinky, strange, fascinating, and altogether oddball yet memorable folk. Herein are gathered their stories, some funny, some sad, some inspiring, and some simply incredible.

Available on Amazon.com or from the publisher, Sheridan Press, Dobbs Ferry, N.Y.

Call of the Ancient Mariner

After wandering about the seas of the world for half a century the question arises, when is it time to stop? The answer is NEVER. This book argues that to enjoy the last third of life old sailors should never stop sailing and non-sailors approaching the end of middle age should damn well better start if they do not want to spend the next three decades twiddling their arthritic thumbs in a grey retirement home.

Available on Amazon.com or from the publisher, McGraw Hill, International Marine Press.

There Be No Dragons

This book was written in the hope that those timid of the deep oceans might have their fears allayed and be encouraged to set sail across the wine dark seas of the World.

Being a sailor of no great skill, I have nevertheless, managed to circle the globe taking two decades to do so. In all those years and in all those miles there was little to fear save 'fear itself'.

The title comes from the ancient charts of the great Portugese navigators who would draw a dotted line around where they had been and label the rest "Beyond Here There Be Dragons."

Available on Amazon.com or from the publisher, Sheridan Press, Dobbs Ferry, N.Y.
